(1) There will be a National Disability Steering Committee for coordinating, supervising, promoting and giving instructions in the related work.
(2) The formation of the Steering Committee shall be as follows:-
(a) Minister, Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens - Chairman
(A1) Members nominated by the Steering Committee from among the members as per Clause (D) – Vice President
(b) Member, National Planning Commission (Looking after Social Services) – Member
(c) Chief Secretary to the Government of Nepal – Member
(d) Secretary, Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens - Member
(e) Secretary, Ministry of Finance – Member (f) Secretary, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs – Member
(g) Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs – Member
(h) Secretary, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration – Member
(i) Secretary, Ministry of Health and Population – Member
(j) Secretary, Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security – Member
(k) Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology – Member
(l) Secretary, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport System - Member (d) Member-Secretary, Social Welfare Council – Member
(d) President, Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Member (n) President, National Disabled Federation of Nepal – Member
(p) National Coordinator, Community Based Rehabilitation Network – Member
(h) Two members, including one woman, from among the experts in the field of disability (D) National-level associations, organizations, federations of persons with disabilities and organizations working in the field of human rights, based on the principle of inclusiveness, with representation from different categories of disabilities, ten members, including at least five women. (D1) Two persons from among the persons with disabilities who have made significant contributions at the national level – members
(d) Two members, including one woman, from disability-related service providers (N) Head of the relevant division of the Ministry - Member - Secretary
(3) SubThe ministry will nominate the members as per Clause (T), (D), (D1) and (D) of Clause (2) and the term of office of such members and the Vice President nominated as per Clause (A1) will be two years.
(4) If any member nominated according to sub-section (2) does not fulfill his official duties, the Ministry may remove such member from the position of member at any time.
(5) When a member is removed from office in accordance with sub-section (4), he shall be given a reasonable opportunity to submit an explanation.
(6) The Secretariat of the Steering Committee shall be in the Ministry.
